Today, accessing homeownership in major cities is nearly impossible. Prices keep rising, renting has become a dead-end trap, and buying a whole property is out of reach for most people. In Spain, 70% of young households are over-indebted, spending more than 40% of their income on rent, and the average time needed to save for a first home is 15 years. This lockout has created a new need: a more accessible, fair, and flexible path to start building wealth—without literally mortgaging your life.
Roomli is one of our latest ventures. It was born to challenge the status quo in real estate and push towards a society where property ownership is more accessible for everyone, especially in big cities. The model allows people, particularly young professionals, to become co-owners of a home by purchasing individual rooms, instead of renting. This isn’t just a new real estate model; it’s a new way of living, investing, and building community. It brings together real estate, fintech, and community into a single experience.
Roomli is now at the go-to-market stage: We’ve already validated demand, built the legal framework, secured access to properties and now we’re ready to scale. We’re looking for a strategic, entrepreneurial leader with experience in operational businesses, real estate, or financial products and a strong desire to roll up their sleeves and build something big from the ground up. Someone who thrives in ambiguity, knows what it takes to go from zero to one, and wants to reshape how an entire generation accesses homeownership.

With experience in real estate, high-demanding operational businesses, ventures, or financial products. Someone who thrives in early-stage environments, can wear multiple hats, and is ready to roll up their sleeves to launch a high-impact venture.

Responsibilities
We're looking for an exceptional Founder/CEO to bring Roomli to life, who will be responsible for:
- Owning Roomli’s strategic direction: Define and execute the vision to make co-ownership of rooms a mainstream alternative to renting.
- Building and leading a top-tier core team, across operations, sales, product, legal, and tech.
- Driving the first deals: From launch our first properties to lead conversations with early adopters, convert interest into signed pre-reservations, and learn fast from real user.
- Managing operations, financials, and key metrics from day one.
- Leading fundraising efforts with investors and institutional partners (real estate funds, banks, public).
- Being the face of Roomli: Represent the venture in the media, real estate ecosystem, and startup/proptech events.
- Ensuring compliance with financial and legal frameworks (ownership structure, contracts, resale).
- Co-creating new services and value propositions around the core product (services, legal, reform, resale, rental).
- Reporting: Share monthly progress, milestones, and strategy updates or decisions with Byld and strategic stakeholders.
Who are we looking for:
- +8 years of experience, ideally in startups, real estate, fintech, high-demanding operational businesses or banking relations.
- Experience in fundraising and investor relations is a big plus.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset. You’ve built or launched things before—successfully or not.
- Proven track record in building products, testing business models, and validating markets.
- Experience managing teams and leading cross-functional execution.
- You are a doer: hands-on, action-oriented, and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Passion for creating more accessible and fair systems—especially in housing and finance.
- High empathy, strong communication, and the ability to lead by example.
- Native in Spanish and advanced in English.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the real estate sector and Spanish housing market.
- Previous experience with legal/financial structuring of alternative ownership models.
- Strong network in real estate, legal, or investor ecosystems.
- Knowledge of renovations, construction budgeting, permits, and real estate development.
Benefits:
- This is a role with reduced or no salary during the first 6 months, in exchange for a meaningful equity package as co-founder (up to 40% for the entrepreneur team). The expectation is to raise our first round during this period and set a competitive salary going forward.
